Nitrile (NBR): It burns with a sooty flame leaving an untolerable smell.
EPDM: Burns readily with a sooty flame leaving a dry & waxy odour.
BUTYL (IIR): Burns readily with a phenolic odour and if colour tested sith Pyrolysate, it will give a positive test.
Neoprene (CR): It burns with a sparkling flame with HCL orour and if tested with Copper (Heat the Copper and touch to the sample) the flame will glow green.
Fluorocarbon (Fpm): It burns and leaves an acrid HF odour and it can easily be found out due to its higher density than other Elastomers (VITON).
Natural Rubber (NR): It burns continuously and becomes sticky and leaves a black patch on the holding portion.
Polyurethene (AU.Eu): It burns and melts leaving drops continuously.
Silicone (Q.MQ.MVQ): It burns with a white flame giving white smoke (No other Elastomer gives white smoke) smelling like bitter almond.
Acryl Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (NBR):
NBR has good mechanical Properties in comparison with other Elastomers and a particularly ghi Wear Resistance.
